solar return ceremony

It seemed very right this year to abide by these guidelines for my solar return. Sharing them with you to perhaps inspire how you choose to create ceremony to mark your special ‘new year’:

-only agree to do what you WANT to do on your birthday. Maybe that’s defined by only doing what feels good. Or only doing what makes you feel expansive. For me, it was anything that felt “right” as in it is giving me space, peace, and setting the tone for who I want to step into this year as.

-take in the love. Reply to those who reach out. Get your hugs. We need connection and care and receiving more than ever these days.

-reflect - journal, think back on your year, celebrate where you are now, decide what’s important for you now as you move forward.

-rest - if your birthday is becoming about others’ needs, rest up. A nap, a massage, a bath.

-create your year’s intention - maybe it is the same as what you wish for when you blow out your candles.

-eat the damn cake, even if you have to go and buy it for yourself.
