The Fog & The Fir

Join me November 9–13, 2026 at Nectar Yoga Retreat, on Bowen Island, BC to find stillness and edge in the quiet of the wet, wild woods.

Nectar Yoga Retreat is a healing space that sits on 20 acres of forested land, just a short 20-minute ferry ride from Vancouver. We acknowledge and honour that Nexwlélexwm (Bowen Island) is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation.

An Invitation

It has been a long-held dream of mine to host a yoga retreat on one of the Gulf Islands of British Columbia because of its natural beauty and magic. Again and again, the rainy season here has brought me back to the most introspective version of myself, reminding me how to soften, restore, and listen.

Nestled in Howe Sound, a fjord northwest of Vancouver, Bowen Island is where I hope to share the rhythms of the fog and the firs with you. This is a retreat led by nature, to explore our edges in challenge and movement, in stillness and rest, so that we can return to our own steady rhythms. Among coastal rain, ancient trees, and the grey hush of the Pacific Northwest, the world feels closer, slower, and more alive. This retreat is a place for thoughtful humans living full lives to pause, restore, and resource. A return to yourself, and remembering how.

What You'll Carry Home

In your spirit, you'll leave with the imprint of the forest, the rhythm of the rain, and the clarity that comes when fog lifts.

In your body, the reset that comes from moving between stillness and edge. In your heart, a deeper connection to yourself.

In your hands, simple nervous system rituals—breathwork, meditation, movement, and journaling—that fit into real life when you need a reminder of how to return to your rhythm.

The Programming and What’s Included

We’ll use inspiration from what’s around us - the resilience, protection, ancient wisdom and grounding of the earth and fir trees. The liminal space, revelation and softening made possible with the mystery and transformation of fog. The emotional release, cleansing, renewal and growth from the purification and renewal of rain.

Each day will include 1-2 asana practices, ranging from gentle and restorative practices to challenging and invigorating vinyasas. We will also have 3 master class/workshop, including an offering from one of my teachers, the one and only Kate Gillespie. Built into each day will be some time to meet yourself - long nature walks, journaling time, and a Mist Thermal Contrast Therapy experience. We will also enjoy time in community to connect over farm-to-table vegetarian and vegan-friendly meals each day.

Each participant will be responsible for their travel in and out of Vancouver International Airport and to Bowen Island. Nectar Yoga Retreat is located at 720 Gardner Lane on Bowen Island, just a short 20 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal in Vancouver. Driving a car is easiest, however there is a public bus. I will also happily coordinate carpool/pick ups from the ferry on Bowen to the retreat centre. Visit the FAQ page on the Nectar website for more information.

Check in is at 3pm on Monday, November 9 and check out will be at 11am on Friday, November 13.
